Rahab

MEET RAHAB

An outsider. An outcast. And an outlaw.

While scholars are unclear as to her exact profession, most agree that Rahab was a prostitute or brothel owner. She endangered herself when she hid two Israelite men from the authorities. She defied her people, however, she recognized the one true God. Because of her bravery, Rahab became one of few people grafted into Israel. Moreover, she—a foreigner and a prostitute—became great-great-great grandmother to King David and, further down the line, Jesus.
