“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55.8-9
This year, as the body of Christ releases the box that we’ve tried to put God into in the past, we will see breakthrough, as He moves in ways we did not expect. Release your ideas of how God moves, how He speaks, how He causes things to happen and you will be amazed by what He does. Our own limiting beliefs of how God moves has restricted our faith in His ability, and has narrowed our ability to see Him move outside of the way we think that He will.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29.13
Just as David was completely open and honest with God, sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly, this is the year for you to open up in the same way. Even though God created you and knows all about you, He still really values your choice to share your whole self with Him. You will discover a different side of God when you choose to share your authentic, vulnerable, even raw self with Him, seeking Him with your whole heart. Your vulnerability with God will usher in encounters with His presence in a way you haven’t experienced before. When you seek God with your whole heart, you will find Him.
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
Ephesians 4.2
Humility is an equalizer, and not only will you find favor with God when you lower yourself, but you will also bridge the gap with all of humanity around you. Choose to go low this year, and watch how others are drawn to you, and how love is cultivated in your relationships.
2019 is a year of abundance. Just as Adam and Eve had all that they could’ve asked for provided for them in the Garden of Eden, this year you too will be met with abundance everywhere you look. You will taste and eat the fruit from trees you didn’t plant, and the fruit will come from unexpected places and at unexpected times. In the middle of winter, flowers will bloom, the sun will shine, and rains will stop. Those of you who have been in a desert season, watch as God opens a door into a jungle season: lush, adventurous, full of life, big dreams, and thriving. Supernatural events will pave the way into your new season. Open your eyes to see and you will see the hand of God.
For many, the year 2019 will represent the end of a traumatic time. It may feel like you’ve been climbing a mountain, and now you’ve reached the top. Your journey, your war wounds, and your battle scars have shaped who you are. Though you are marked by them, there is freedom and grace to move on now. Watch for God to restore things in your life to even better than they’ve ever been before. He is rewriting your story and this is a pivotal time, as you have the opportunity to make agreement with Him about the future that He has for you. This is a time of rebirth. He is making all things new (Revelation 21.5)
“For nothing is impossible with God.”
Luke 1.37
2019 is a year of possible impossibilities. It’s time to pull out your old dreams, the ones that could only happen WITH God, the ones you could never accomplish on your own. Watch for God to speak a whisper of something that is impossible in the natural, and then watch as He makes it happen. This will be a year of unexpected financial blessing and breakthrough. As you stand in faith on the promise that you have from God, rejoice in the way He makes a way where there was no way before. Generosity will bring disproportionate blessing, so be intentional with your giving. The testimonies of God’s miraculous, outrageous provision this year will be ones for the history books. The stories of financial breakthrough for some people will be the catalyst for many to believe in God for the first time. His goodness, mercy, and favor will shine for all to see.
We at The Crowning Jewels believe in the absolute, transformational power of declarations. We know that truth comes by hearing (Romans 10.17), and speaking truth is an active way for us to renew our minds (Romans 12.2). We also believe that in speaking forth these declarations, you will change your life. We invite you to partner with what God is doing and say these declarations throughout 2019. We would love to hear what God does! Please email us your testimony at tellyourstory@thecrowningjewels.com.
With only a few days left in 2017, there’s an invitation to reflection. New Years is an opportunity to quiet yourself before God and reflect on what He has done this past year, and to look ahead with His promises for the coming year. It’s easy to cruise through your days on autopilot without taking the time to pause and ponder, yet it’s of incredible spiritual importance to take the time to reflect.
Just like a lake reflects the sky when it’s without a ripple, you reflect heaven best when you quiet your spirit in His Presence. We encourage you to set some time apart this week to quiet yourself before God and reflect. Whether you lock yourself in your home office, you hide yourself in the corner of your favorite coffee shop or you find a beautiful spot in nature; give yourself the time and space to meet with God. Pause all to-do lists and silence your phone for a while, so He can embrace you in stillness.
It can be scary to quiet down. Maybe you’re afraid of what your heart will feel when it has no distractions. Maybe you’re hesitant to reflect on this past year, because it has been one of pain, disappointments or loss. Maybe you’ve made some mistakes this year you feel ashamed about. Maybe you’re disappointed in yourself because you feel like you haven’t measured up. Identify what is keeping you from quieting yourself and invite God’s voice to speak truth into that area. Allow yourself to mourn the difficult events of this year, so His comfort can wrap around you. Be honest about your disappointments with yourself and God, so a new revelation of Jesus’ sacrifice can cover you.
The Holy Spirit wants to give you heaven-colored glasses to look back on the last twelve months. Instead of avoiding the mirror, ask Him to share how He has seen you and how He views your decisions this year. Find the courage to own your story by inviting Him to be your Narrator. He will teach you His language of grace and compassion. We believe you will discover a revelatory new perspective on some of the hardest moments of your 2017 as you take this time with God.
You don’t always notice change in yourself, because you quickly become familiar with a new reality. We are all in process, moving towards the fullness of the person we are called to be. In all this forward movement, it’s important to celebrate the steps we’ve already taken. Even the smallest progress can serve as a powerful source of encouragement. Past victories are like fuel that keeps you going. This is why God has placed such a high value on capturing and treasuring the testimony of His goodness. Whether it’s a significant step in your personal development or a breakthrough in an area you’ve struggled in, writing down these testimonies help you remember them in moments you need a dose of faith.
In the beginning of 2017, we asked God what promises He was highlighting for this year. You can read that prophetic word here. Based on those promises, we crafted ten reflective questions that will help you capture the testimonies of 2017. Grab a journal and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you write down your answers.
We would love to hear from you! Do you have any testimonies of God’s goodness you’d like to share? Share them on our Facebook page or on our Instagram, so other people can be encouraged by His goodness as well.

2018 is a year of celebration. There will be multiple ongoing and recurrent victories, both personal and corporate. Picture runners running in a race, surrounded by the bride of Christ, who are cheering them on as they run. As each runner gets to the finish line, all those on the sidelines rejoice. Each one passes through the finish line a winner, and everyone is celebrating together. The moral is this: every victory, no matter how small, should be celebrated - for if we neglect to herald even our own personal breakthroughs, they will melt away into the fabric of our lives, forgotten. Make the time to celebrate even minor triumphs with others, for they are marking our way.
God’s goodness is being revealed to the world in glorious new ways. Celebrating the testimony unveils new facets of His goodness. Start declaring his goodness, and watch Him surprise you!
